                                   NOTA.

 No siempre el verbo HACER se traduce en inglés por TO DO. En muchos casos debe traducirse por TO MAKE, especialmente cuando equivale a Fabricar, crear o producir.

                                  GRAMMAR.

   El condicional en inglés reclama, como el futuro, una voz auxiliar. La palabra SHALL y WILL empleadas en el futuro, se substituyen respectivamente por SHOULD y WOULD en el condicional. SHOULD se emplea, por lo tanto, en las primeras personas (singular y plural), y WOULD en las dos restantes.

          I should…., you would…, he would…., she would….,

          We should…, you would…., they would…

Ejemplos de condicional. Verbo TO HELP, ayudar, auxiliar.

                                              FORMA AFIRMATIVA.

I should help.                       Yo ayudaría.

You would help.                  Usted ayudaría.

He would help.                    Él ayudaría, etc, etc.

She would help.                  

We shoul help.

You would help.

They would help.

                                  FORMA INTERROGATIVA.

   Se construye de igual manera que la del futuro. Verbo TO EXPLAIN.

Should I explain?.                ¿Explicaría yo?.

Would you explain?.           ¿Explicaría usted?, etc, etc.

Would he explain?.

Would she explain?.

Should we explain?.

Would you explain?.

Would they explain?.

                                  FORMA NEGATIVA.

    No difiere de la del futuro. Basta substituir los auxiliares SHAL y WILL por SHOULD y WOULD, respectivamente, verbo TO USE, usar, emplear.

I shoul not use.                    Yo no usaría.

You would not use.             Usted no usaría.

He would not use.               Él no usaría, etc, etc.

She would not use.

We should not use.

You would not use.

They would not use.

                                               EXAMPLES.

Would you like to go to New York with me?.

I should be very pleased.

Besides, we should go to Canada. Your brother Andrew would come with us.

I am sure he would accept your invitation with the greatest pleasure.

What should we do in America?.

We should visit the principal cities, Washington, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc., and at the same time we should practice the English language.

I should like to fly to New York but I am afraid to go by air.

We should send our English teacher a card from America but we do not remember his address.

Póngase en forma afirmativa, interrogativa y negativa, el condicional de cada uno de los verbos siguientes: TO ADMIT, TO DISCOVER, TO SLEEP.

I should read an English novel if I were you. You would not paint a picture unless you were well paid. We should answer all the questions if we had a goo dictionary.

I should drink a glass of wine if I could find the bottle.
