CONOZCA ESPAÑA, TENERIFE

Tenerife es una isla del océano Atlántico, perteneciente a la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias (España). Junto a La Palma, La Gomera y El Hierro conforma la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Con una superficie de 2.034,38 km² y una población de 906.854 habitantes, es la isla más extensa del Archipiélago Canario y la más poblada de España.
La ciudad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife es la capital de la isla y de la provincia homónima, así como su municipio más poblado con 222.643 habitantes. Conjuntamente con Las Palmas de Gran Canaria es, además, capital de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias. Entre 1833 y 1927 Santa Cruz de Tenerife fue oficialmente la única capital del Archipiélago Canario, hasta que en 1927 un decreto ordenó que la capitalidad de Canarias fuera compartida, que es como permanece en la actualidad. El segundo municipio por número de habitantes de la isla y tercero de Canarias con 152.222 habitantes es San Cristóbal de La Laguna, ciudad, además, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad (la única ciudad canaria que posee tal distinción). El área metropolitana de Santa Cruz de Tenerife tiene una población de más de 400.000 habitantes.
Tenerife is the largest and most populous island of the seven Canary Islands, it is also the most populated island of Spain, with a land area of 2,034.38 km² (785.47 mi2) and 906,854 inhabitants, 43% of the total population of the Canary Islands. About five million tourists visit Tenerife each year, the most of any Canary Islands. Tenerife hosts one of the world's largest carnivals and the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is attempting to become a World Heritage Site. Tenerife is serviced by two airports, Tenerife North Airport and Tenerife South Airport, and is the tourism and economic centre of the archipelago.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital of the island and the seat of the island council (cabildo insular). The city is capital of the autonomous community of Canary Islands (shared with Las Palmas), sharing governmental institutions such as Presidency and ministries. Between the 1833 territorial division of Spain and 1927 Santa Cruz de Tenerife was the sole capital of the Canary Islands, until in 1927 a decree ordered that the capital of the Canary Islands be shared, as it remains as at present.
テネリフェ島（テネリフェとう、Tenerife）は、大西洋にあるスペイン領カナリア諸島に属する島。面積は2,034平方キロメートル、人口は899,833人（2008年）で、共にカナリア諸島内で最大である。諸島最大の都市であり、カナリア諸島自治州の州都サンタ・クルス・デ・テネリフェが島の北東部にある。この島は元々火山島であり、スペインの最高峰、テイデ山 (3,718 m) がある。
交通手段としては、テネリフェ・ノルテ空港、テネリフェ・スール空港の2つの空港があり、フェリーも就航している。島内の主な公共交通としてバスが運行されているが、2007年より路面電車も開通した。
